Storytelling
Workshops

We draw children into the magical world of their favourite stories with an actor in role working directly with you and your class to create new stories and poetry. All storytelling workshops can be an Arts Award project (youth audience) which enables the participants to achieve a Discover certificate.

Film Club

Make a film... your stories, your way, your voice...

This programme will raise the confidence of the young people as well as teach them how to share their ideas, problem solve and work within a team.

The overall aim of this programme is to provide as excellent participatory and creative opportunity, which will progress the abilities, aspirations and potential of the young people.

This experience, using drama as the tool, offers an exciting way of learning, and a wonderful opportunity for each young person to better understand themselves and those around them in a safe setting. Each group will develop by being encouraged to not be afraid to fail. We all know how much we learn from being brave and taking risks and through this process will learn to make those decisions that are right for them.

The programme includes the following:

  • Developing ideas alone and as apart of a productive team (it is anticipated that the schools will be put into pairs to work creatively together)
  • How to undertake research
  • Learning about the structure of stories
  • How to write (and edit) a script for film/documentary and for specific aesthetics
  • Key drama, acting and presenting skills
  • Use of voice (vocal technique)
  • How to use a camera in different modes and environments
  • How to construct a piece of drama and/or documentary, specifically for film
  • How to use cameras, sound and editing gear in order to tell a story of their choosing
