Young Authors Creative Writing Course

Creative Pathways for Brilliantly Underestimated Children

No child needs fixing.
They need to be understood, encouraged, and given the tools to shine.

Some children love writing.
Some avoid it completely.
Some have brilliant imaginations but struggle to get words onto paper.
Some just haven’t yet found the environment where their ideas feel safe enough to grow.

Young Authors exists for all of them.
This is not a traditional writing course.
It is a confidence-building, creativity-unlocking, belief-shifting experience that guides children step by step to become published authors — often for the very first time.

Using our trademarked creative methodology, we meet and celebrate children exactly where they are and help them move forward with clarity, pride, and excitement.

By the end of their journey, every child finishes with something extraordinary:

A real book.
Their name on the cover.
Proof that their ideas matter.

Choose the Young Authors Experience That Fits Your Child

All three options lead to the same powerful outcome:
A complete, illustrated story and a printed book sent to your home.
Choose the format that best suits your child’s personality, confidence level, and learning style.

Online On-Demand (Self-Paced) Course

Independent | Flexible | Start Anytime

Perfect for independent learners, gifted and talented writers, and home-educating families who enjoy working at their own pace.
This version allows your child to move through the course using short, engaging video lessons and creative tasks.
They can pause, rewind, take breaks, and return whenever they are ready — building confidence without pressure.

How It Works

Each day includes:

  • 4–6 short videos (5–10 minutes each)
  • Fun writing challenges
  • Art or illustration activities
  • A simple progress checklist

Most children take 2–4 hours per day, but there’s no rush — the course fits around your schedule.

5-Day Creative Journey

  • Day 1: Build your world and main character
  • Day 2: Start your story and introduce a problem
  • Day 3: Write the middle and design the book cover
  • Day 4: Write the ending and learn editing skills
  • Day 5: Author’s biography, illustrations, and final polish

What You’ll Need

  • Paper or a notebook
  • Pens or pencils
  • Art supplies (optional but encouraged!)
  • A device to watch the videos
  • Optional free Canva account for digital covers

Final Outcome

By the end, your child will have created:

  • A complete story
  • Illustrations
  • A book cover
  • Author’s biography and author page

We then print their finished book and send it to you — making them a published author.

Face-to-Face Creative Writing Course

In-Person | Small Groups | Fully Supported

Our in-person course launches on the 25th-29th May, 2026.

A five-day creative writing and illustration experience where children learn by doing, playing, and imagining together.
Using drama, storytelling, art, and structured writing activities, children build their book step by step with experienced leaders supporting them throughout.

What Your Child Will Experience

  • Confidence-building drama and storytelling games
  • Creative writing without pressure or fear of “getting it wrong”
  • Art sessions to learn new skills and design their own book cover
  • Peer-supported editing and celebration of their achievements
  • An awards ceremony with framed certificates, story sharing and graduation photo

Children are grouped by age (5–8 and 9–12) and supported in a SEND-friendly, child-led, inclusive environment.

The 5-Day Journey

  • Session 1 – Characters
Create the heart of your story by inventing a main character with wants, fears, and a voice of their own.
  • Session 2 – Setting
Build the world your story lives in by imagining places, sounds, dangers, and details that bring it to life.
  • Session 3 – Plot & Problems
Discover what happens in your story by planning a beginning, a big problem, and exciting moments that build tension.
  • Session 4 – The Big Moment
Explore the most exciting part of your story by deciding how your character faces danger and makes a brave choice.
  • Session 5 – Endings & Publishing
Finish your story, reflect on your journey, and prepare your book to be shared as a published author.

By the End of the Week, Your Child Will Have

  • A complete beginning–middle–end story
  • Illustrations and a designed book cover
  • Author’s biography and author page
  • Certificate declaring them a published author
