Let’s be honest. The idea that there is only one right way to learn is simply not true.
Yet many young people are still expected to learn in the same way, at the same pace, and within the same structure. When that does not work, the assumption is often that the learner needs to change.
But what if the problem is not the learner?
At RYTC Creatives CIC (The RYTC), we work with young people who are often seen as not fitting the system. In reality, they are individuals whose strengths and ways of engaging have not been recognised.
Some young people thrive in creative environments where they can express themselves through drama and storytelling, while others need structure, clarity, and time before they feel ready to engage. What matters is recognising these differences and responding to them, rather than expecting every young person to learn in the same way.
There is no single way to learn.
What matters is creating the right environment. One where young people feel safe, supported, and able to engage at their own pace.
When that happens, something shifts. Confidence grows, participation increases, and those “Of course I can” moments begin to appear.
Through the Creative Pathway, The RYTC supports young people in building confidence, expression, and direction, connecting creativity with education and career development.
So no, there is not just one way to learn.
There are many.
And the most powerful one is the one that works for the individual.
