Today was one of those days where small things just… worked.

Nothing big. Nothing life changing.

Just a good haircut. The kind that falls right, feels light, and gives you that quiet confidence without trying too hard. A parking space showing up exactly when it’s needed. And rain, of course, but somehow already having an umbrella. Not just any umbrella, one with butterflies on it that made the whole thing feel a bit lighter.

It sounds small when you say it out loud.

But it didn’t feel small in the moment.

Because when a few things line up like that, something shifts. You slow down a little; you notice. You breathe differently. You realise not everything is rushed or against you.

And that’s where a positive mindset begins.

Not in big, dramatic changes. Not in forcing yourself to feel a certain way. But in the quiet habit of noticing what is working, even when everything else feels busy, uncertain, or not quite right.

A positive mindset is not about ignoring challenges. It is about allowing something else to exist alongside them. A small win. A moment of ease. A reminder that things can go right too.

And over time, those moments build something steady.

At RYTC Creatives CIC (The RYTC), this matters more than it might seem.

Because creativity is not just about performance. It is about how someone feels when they show up. When young people feel under pressure, unsure, or overlooked, it becomes harder to express themselves, to take risks, or even to try.

But when they begin to notice small moments that feel good, even outside the creative space, something starts to shift inside them.

They feel more settled.
More open.
More willing to engage.

And that is where creativity starts to come alive.

At The RYTC, the focus is not only on what young people can do but also on helping them feel able to do it. Supporting confidence, expression, and emotional wellbeing so they can access their creativity in a way that feels natural and sustainable.

Sometimes, the starting point is not a big breakthrough.

Sometimes, it is just a moment where things feel okay.

And choosing to notice it.
